Application Deadline: Ongoing but it is a first come first serve basis

The University of Providence (Great Falls, MT) women’s basketball program is in search of managers for the 2019-2020 season. A $12,000 scholarship will be offered for being part of the team. Student manager tasks are very limited and would only require 3-5 hours a week of students’ time. Basketball knowledge or playing experience are not necessary to fill this position.

There are a few stipulations about this scholarship.

  • First, it must a a new student to the University of Providence, not a returning student.
  • The student would be considered a “basketball recruit” not recruited by any other department on our university (admissions, athletics, etc.).
  • Also, it can’t be paired with any other scholarships ie: a student already coming here for soccer, then doubling up the scholarship as a basketball manager as well.

Montana Academic Achievement Scholarship (MAA)

Awards Begin after November 15

The Montana Resident Entering Student Scholarship Program draws together many endowed scholarships and donations into a single scholarship pool known as the Montana Academic Achievement Scholarship (MAA). All new incoming University of Montana students pursuing their first bachelor's degree will automatically be considered for scholarships. The application for admission serves as the scholarship application.

MAA scholarships range from $1,000 to $3,000.

Hagan scholarship foundation

Application Deadline : November 15

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship for high achieving, self-motivated students. The scholarship provides up to $6,000 each semester, for up to eight consecutive semesters, to help recipients graduate college debt free. Recipients must graduate form a public high school located in a county that has less than 50,000 residents, The scholarship provides up to $6,000 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters.

Eligibility:

  1. Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  2. Must attend an Eligible Public High School.
  3. Must be a student in the 2020 high school graduating class.
  4. Must have achieved a high school CGPA of 3.75 or higher.
  5. Must have scored 24 or higher on the ACT (Composite Score) or 1,150 on the SAT.
  6. Must enroll at an eligible four-year college the first semester following high school graduation.
  7. Must work 240 hours in the twelve months prior to the start of college; from August 2019 to August 2020.
  8. Must complete the FAFSA in 2019 using 2018 tax return information; the EFC must not exceed $6,500.
  9. Must apply for eligible Federal and State grants.
  10. Must not have been convicted of a felony.

2020 Aviation Scholarships

Application Deadline: December 1

Multiple Awards ranging from $500-2000

Montana is very fortunate to have many generous individuals and organizations that believe in promoting aviation by offering monetary assistance to qualified persons. The Aeronautics Division assists in administering some of these scholarships and encourages participation. The scholarships are offered to Montanans to help defray costs of education (e.g., flight instruction, A&P mechanic school, etc.) and will be presented during the 2020 Montana Aviation Conference in Great Falls, Montana.

Scholarship awards are based on candidate letters explaining the reasons for applying, future career goals, past aviation experience (if any), and outstanding achievements.

Each letter must include a mailing address, email address, and a phone number. The same letter can be used for each scholarship, but candidates must submit one copy addressed to each individual scholarship. Also include a 250-word biography and one self-portrait. These will appear in the 2020 Montana Aviation Conference program for those receiving awards.

University of montana - presidential leadership scholarship

Application Deadline: December 6, 2019

The Presidential Leadership Scholarship is the University of Montana’s premier freshman scholarship. Presidential Scholars are chosen solely on academic merit with scholarships being renewable for a total of four years. Approximately 25 PLS awards are made each year to incoming freshman.

Resident students receive a full tuition waiver. Non-resident students either have their tuition discounted through the WUE program or they receive a waiver equivalent to in-state tuition (currently $4,373). All PLS recipients also receive a stipend of $7,500 for the Gold Level or $5,000 for the Silver Level.

PLS recipients cannot receive tuition designated scholarships in excess of tuition. Usually, non-resident students awarded the LAS or WSS are able to retain their scholarship in addition to the waiver of in-state tuition because the combination does not exceed tuition. Resident students who are awarded UM's Montana Academic Achievement Scholarship (MAA) are not able to retain these as they are also tuition designated. MT residents cannot receive the tuition waiver associated with the PLS and the MUS Honors Scholarship so should accept the MUS Honors Scholarship because of its portability.

Eligibility:

Generally, PLS applicants are expected to meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and
  • An ACT composite score of 27, or
  • An SAT composite score of 1800 (if taken before 2016), or
  • An SAT composite score of 1270 (if taken in 2016 or later)

  • Award: Full tuition waivers and generous stipends for four years.

The Presidential Scholarships are Montana State University's most distinguished academic awards, recognizing scholastic achievement, demonstrated leadership and unique personal qualities. Scholarship recipients receive annual tuition waivers, a generous stipend and other unique incentives for each of four years. Recent Presidential Scholars have gone on to receive such renowned awards as the Goldwater, Truman, Rhodes, Marshall and Mitchell scholarships. As Ambassadors of the university, they reflect its highest ideals through demonstrated leadership and public service, and are in the process of leaving a unique fingerprint on their world.

Application Deadline: January 31, 2020

The Governor’s Office of Community Service, Reach Higher Montana and Montana Campus Compact are pleased to announce the 2020 Youth Serve Montana Scholarship opportunity. Up to one hundred high school seniors will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship for their volunteer service in their respective communities. Qualifying students will have completed 100 hours or more of volunteer service within the last 12 months. Applications will begin on October 15, 2019 and close on January 31, 2020. We are delighted to offer this scholarship opportunity to provide financial assistance for our Montana students who will be attending a Montana Campus Compact Institution next fall.

MSUB Chancellor's Excellence award

Application Deadline: January 15, 2020

The Chancellor's Excellence Awards will be awarded each year to freshmen entering Montana State University Billings in September. Recipients receive $4,000 per academic year. Scholars who meet or exceed all of the renewal criteria may expect to have their scholarships renewed for four years for a maximum award of $16,000.

In addition, recipients who plan to live in the residence halls their freshman year will receive a housing/dining waiver valued at approximately one-half of the total cost of their room and board. Recipients who maintain a cumulative Fall GPA of 3.75 or above during their freshman year will be eligible to receive an additional $450 residence hall waiver for the spring semester of their freshman year. Recipients who maintain an overall cumulative GPA of 3.75 or above and continue to live in the residence halls, will be eligible to receive a $1,000 housing waiver their sophomore year, and each consecutive year thereafter for as long as the GPA is maintained at or above 3.75.

The Chancellor's Excellence Awards is available to a traditional or non-traditional entering freshman enrolled full-time for a minimum of 15 credits per semester. Successful applicants must also have a 26 ACT or greater or 1240-1270 SAT or greater, rank in the top 10 percent of high school graduating class or have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better, (applicants who are home school, charter high school, or G.E.D. graduates, or applicants who have been out of high school more than three years, must satisfy the ACT or SAT requirements listed above), display evidence of leadership and a record of school/community service, and provide contact information for three references. Applicants must sign a declaration of intent to complete a four-year undergraduate degree conferred by MSU Billings and be enrolled in an MSU Billings bachelor’s degree program.

Montana Federation of public employees scholarship

Application Deadline: March 15

Award: $1,500

The Montana Federation of Public Employees (MFPE) is awarding a scholarship to a student who has demonstrated academic achievement, financial need, community involvement and/or extracurricular activity. The student or parent/legal guardian must be an active member of MFPE.

Award amount: $500

Requirements are:

1. They will only consider students with a GPA of 3.o or LESS. Please include a transcript with cumulative GPS.

2. You must attend a College, University, Vo-Tech, Business, Nursing, Beauty School in Montana.

3. The $500 will be paid to the institution you attend.

4. Your application must include a synopsis of your future plans, a paragraph about your family, state your financial need and why you are applying, a      photo of yourself, three letters of recommendation, a self addressed        stamped envelope.

Montana 4-h Foundation Scholarships

Application Deadline: April 1

The Montana 4-H Foundation supports 4-H initiatives that focus on healthy living, citizenship, leadership, science, engineering and technology, to name a few. The mission of the Montana 4-H Foundation is to “help 4-H youth by raising private funds, managing financial resources and partnering with the MSU Extension Service to fund educational opportunities for Montana 4-H youth, volunteer leaders and staff.”

Scholarships and grants provide opportunities for youth and adults to strengthen their skills and maximize their positive impacts on the communities in which they live.

Scholarship Information

The Montana 4-H Foundation offers a number of collegiate scholarships to students . When filling out the application, you will select which scholarships you would like to apply for. All scholarships require certain criteria to be met, in order to be awarded. We ask that you only apply for only the scholarships you qualify for. Please review the scholarship eligibility and distribution of fund requirements by clicking on each scholarship name. Awarding of a scholarship is based on availability of funds.

The Montana 4-H scholarship winners will be recognized at Montana 4-H Congress on the MSU campus in July. As a condition of receiving the scholarship, each recipient or their appointee must agree to attend Montana 4-H Congress closing banquet to be recognized.

Black Mountain Software Scholarship

Application Deadline: April 15

Award: $1,000

Black Mountain Software is offering scholarships to Montana students. All interested 2020 graduating Montana high school seniors who will be attending an accredited institution of higher education, regardless of their field of study, are eligible. These accredited institutions include trade schools, technical schools, colleges or universities.

Two Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1000.00 each. Scholarship payment will be made directly to the school that the applicant will be attending.

Montana Premier Scholarship Application

To be considered for MSU Premier Scholarships, which will be available to incoming Montana resident students, please complete this application. The application deadline is 2/1 for fall semester! Apply early. Funds are limited.

Applicants must apply for admission (be sure to include self reported GPA and class rank if applicable) and have official ACT and/or SAT scores sent directly to MSU from the testing agency to be considered for scholarships.
