university of providence basketball manager

Application Deadline: Ongoing but it is a first come first serve basis

The University of Providence (Great Falls, MT) women’s basketball program is in search of managers for the 2019-2020 season. A $12,000 scholarship will be offered for being part of the team. Student manager tasks are very limited and would only require 3-5 hours a week of students’ time. Basketball knowledge or playing experience are not necessary to fill this position.

There are a few stipulations about this scholarship.

  • First, it must a a new student to the University of Providence, not a returning student.
  • The student would be considered a “basketball recruit” not recruited by any other department on our university (admissions, athletics, etc.).
  • Also, it can’t be paired with any other scholarships ie: a student already coming here for soccer, then doubling up the scholarship as a basketball manager as well.

Please contact the women’s assistant coach, Krystal Smith at krystalsmith@uprovidence.edu.

University of montana - presidential leadership scholarship

Application Deadline: December 6, 2019

The Presidential Leadership Scholarship is the University of Montana’s premier freshman scholarship. Presidential Scholars are chosen solely on academic merit with scholarships being renewable for a total of four years. Approximately 25 PLS awards are made each year to incoming freshman.

Resident students receive a full tuition waiver. Non-resident students either have their tuition discounted through the WUE program or they receive a waiver equivalent to in-state tuition (currently $4,373). All PLS recipients also receive a stipend of $7,500 for the Gold Level or $5,000 for the Silver Level.

PLS recipients cannot receive tuition designated scholarships in excess of tuition. Usually, non-resident students awarded the LAS or WSS are able to retain their scholarship in addition to the waiver of in-state tuition because the combination does not exceed tuition. Resident students who are awarded UM's Montana Academic Achievement Scholarship (MAA) are not able to retain these as they are also tuition designated. MT residents cannot receive the tuition waiver associated with the PLS and the MUS Honors Scholarship so should accept the MUS Honors Scholarship because of its portability.

Eligibility:

Generally, PLS applicants are expected to meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and
  • An ACT composite score of 27, or
  • An SAT composite score of 1800 (if taken before 2016), or
  • An SAT composite score of 1270 (if taken in 2016 or later)

Application Procedure:

Applications are available through the Davidson Honors College.
