There will be a parent meeting Tuesday, March. 9th at 5:30 PM in the high school gymnasium. This will be for athletes, and their parents, that are interested in participating in softball, track, or golf. This meeting is mandatory so please do your best to be there or make arrangements with the head coach.
The Powell County Public Health Board voted Monday, March 1, 2021 to not enact the mask mandate in Powell County. Accordingly, the Powell County High School District will no longer require masks for students or staff. However, individual teachers may require masks be worn in their classroom or designated area. With the absence of a countywide mask mandate, the Powell County Public Health Officer will quarantine an entire classroom of students should a student or staff member test positive for COVID-19, regardless of social/physical distancing. PCHS continues to recommend mask wearing, and the practice of all safety measures while in school and at school sponsored events.
PCHS will be holding virtual Parent/Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, March 2 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Teachers will be sending Zoom links to parents and students. If you cannot attend on March 2, please contact the teachers to make alternate arrangements.

In light of the recent spike of positive cases in Powell County, parent/teacher conferences will be held online on Monday, November 2. There will be no in-person conferences. Teachers will send zoom invitations to student emails. Please work with your student to access the links and meet with teachers. Due to the requirements for social distancing, the annual Fall Sports Meeting will be held on two evenings. Students who are interested in volleyball and cheerleading will meet in the gym on Tuesday, August 11 at 6:00 p.m. Students who are interested in football and cross country will meet in the gym on Wednesday, August 12 at 6:00 p.m. This is a mandatory meeting for all students who plan to participate in fall athletics. Tomorrow and Friday all students will need to turn in their computers and all books. Freshman can come in between 8:30 and 11:30 on Thursday, May 28. Sophomore can come in between 12:00 and 3:00 Thursday May 28. Juniors can come in between 8:30 and 11:30 on Friday, May 29th. All items need to be turned in at the office. Please bring all your books, your computer, calculators, art supplies, choir and band uniforms, instruments, music and anything else that needs to be given back to teachers. If you have money owed to the music department, please bring that as well. If you have a library book checked out, you will need to return that or be prepared to pay for a replacement. After careful study and deliberation, the Powell County High School Board of Trustees, on a recommendation from the superintendent, voted on May 4, 2020, to keep our school on our remote learning plan through the remainder of the school year.
In accordance with Governor Bullocks stay at home directive, all Montana public schools will be closed until April 24th. Online classes will continue. We will update you with more information as we receive it.
In accordance with Governor Bullock's shelter-in-place directive, schools are considered essential services. We will continue to offer classes online for those who have internet service and hard copies for those students without internet. In order to avoid negatively impacting GPA's due to the online format we must now use, grades for second semester will be pass/fail. Mrs. Glisson has emailed all students information regarding the most recent changes. She has encouraged them to share that email with their parents. Please do not hesitate to email Mrs. Glisson with any questions or concerns.
In accordance with Governor Bullock's directive earlier this afternoon, Powell County High School will remain closed through April 10. Online classes will continue as scheduled.

Students who are unable to receive emails on their cell phones should also contact the office. We need to get information out to students and if email isn't working, we need to know that. In light of the rapidly changing environment surrounding our school closure, PCHS will be providing online classes beginning Monday, March 23 at 8:15 a.m. Classes will be conducted at their regularly scheduled times. The instruction for all classes has been suspended through March 27. PCHS will NOT be offering online classes. The end of third quarter will be extended to Friday, April 3 which will result in a shortened fourth quarter. Information regarding lunches served by SD1 will be coming later today.
